Slayers 2 Water Breathing: Urokodaki, Training & Skills
Learn Water Breathing in Slayers 2 (formerly Project Slayers 2) from Water Trainer Urokodaki, inside a wooden room reached through an underwater passage near Bamboo Grove Sanctuary. Start at level 25 and keep 5,000 Wen ready, then finish Parkour Dungeon, Push ups, Boulder Push, Aim Training, five Underwater Rocks and the Water Trainee fight. Unlock individual moves in the Water skill tree afterward.

| Requirement | Prepare before training |
|---|---|
| Character level | 25 |
| Trainer | Water Trainer Urokodaki |
| Training fee | 5,000 Wen |
Find Urokodaki and prepare for training
From Bamboo Grove Sanctuary, approach the house across the red arched bridge and torii gate. Find the large bush by the house, then the water-filled opening below the cliff.
Switch to first-person view to see the underwater passage. Swim through promptly, climb out at the far ledge and enter the wooden room. The interaction reads Water Trainer Urokodaki.
Reach level 25 and keep 5,000 Wen available. Speak to Urokodaki before farming additional horns: use the material request in his dialogue rather than another style’s bill. Accept training and check for Water Breathing Training in the quest tracker.

Looking for Flowing Motion? Open the Tomioka clan tree
Flowing Motion is Tomioka’s clan skill and resets the cooldowns of two random skills. Learn it through the clan skill tree; completing Urokodaki’s Water training does not grant it. If you are searching for the Water moves themselves, continue with the training and skill requirements below.
Complete the six tasks in order
Complete these tasks in quest order. The next row unlocks after the previous one registers. If your tracker shows a different sequence, follow its named prerequisite.
After the trainee fight, open M → Skill Tree and select Water. Training unlocks the branch; each move has its own points, mastery and prerequisite requirements.
Find the mats and align the indicator.
Boulder Split inputsUse the circle exercise, rather than attacking the rock.
Learn the next moveSeparate points, mastery and prerequisite nodes.
| Step | Objective | How to finish |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Parkour Dungeon | Cross the timed obstacle course and operate the levers; preserve your remaining hearts. |
| 2 | Push ups | Use the Pushups mat in the training house; click when the shrinking inner ring meets the outer ring. |
| 3 | Boulder Push | Guide the boulder through the fenced maze to its destination before the timer expires. |
| 4 | Aim Training | Use the Target Shooting station outside the training house and click each appearing target. |
| 5 | Underwater Rocks | Collect five glowing Sea Crystals. Surface between pickups and confirm the counter reaches 5/5. |
| 6 | Water Trainee | Defeat the quest-marked Water Trainee after the earlier exercises; confirm the style unlock. |
Parkour: line up the next landing
The course crosses separated stone platforms and narrow ledges. Turn the camera toward your destination before leaving a platform so you can judge the landing instead of correcting blindly in the air.
On each safe platform, stop drifting, look at the next gap and jump deliberately. Save your movement adjustments for a clear landing rather than rushing several gaps at once.
After finishing, check that Parkour Dungeon shows 1/1 and Push ups becomes the active objective. The parkour step alone does not complete Water Breathing training.
Push ups, Boulder Push and Aim Training
The push-up station has a Train interaction on a red mat. Use T on PC to interact, then follow the activity prompts until the quest counter changes.
Continue to Boulder Push, then Aim Training. Complete the active exercise before moving to the next marker. If a later task is still locked, check the previous row in your quest log first.
Training activities and normal combat are separate interactions. Standing at the station or using an attack beside it does not replace starting the activity through its prompt.
Underwater Rocks: collect five Sea Crystals
The quest calls this step Underwater Rocks, while the blue pickup displays Sea Crystal. Look for the glowing blue objects on underwater rock ledges and use the Pick Up interaction.
Begin your search along the shallower ledges rather than swimming straight to the deepest bottom. Move close enough for the item name to appear, then interact and check that the objective counter increases.
You need five pickups for this step. At 4/5, keep searching for the remaining crystal; the Water Trainee objective stays locked until the rock collection is complete.
Finish the Water Trainee encounter
Once Underwater Rocks reaches 5/5, follow the newly active Water Trainee objective and complete the fight. Check the training objective after the encounter instead of leaving as soon as the enemy falls.
Prepare for this as a sword fight with your current abilities. Do not build a strategy around Water Breathing moves that you are still trying to unlock. Recover and prepare your equipment before starting if the collection route left you low on health.
Check the skill tree after training
Open the skill tree and inspect the Water Breathing branch. Water Surface Slash is one of its skills. Training completion, individual skill unlocks and having a usable weapon equipped are separate checks.
If a move will not activate, first check its node and requirements, then your equipped katana and the on-screen restriction. Do not assume every starter sword or every dropped sword supports the ability.
Use the general progression route to continue toward Final Selection. Keep leveling and prepare for its collection, movement and combat objectives after finishing your breathing training.
Water skills: plan your next skill-point purchase
Water Surface Slash is the starting move shown unlocked after training. The later Water branch contains Whirlpool, Water Wheel, Constant Flux and Dead Calm. Finishing the trainer route does not unlock every move at once.
Keep character level, Water Mastery and available skill points separate. Reaching a character level does not satisfy a Water Mastery requirement, and enough mastery does not pay a node’s skill-point cost.
Start with the unlocked forward cut after training.
Inspect WhirlpoolBudget six points and test the advancing attack.
Compare Water Wheel inputsCheck Mastery 27, nine points, and tap versus hold.
Read the Constant Flux skill pagePlan 12 points and inspect the held input.
Prepare Dead CalmTrack Mastery 53, 15 points and Defeat Giyen.
- Open Skill Tree and select the Water branch after finishing training. Follow the connected nodes from your unlocked move.
- Compare your unspent skill points with the next node’s cost. The 42-point total covers only the four listed purchases, not general upgrades or clan skills.
- Read the full requirement strip on the selected node. Inspect mastery and special requirements as well as the skill-point number.
- Unlock an eligible move, then confirm that it is marked unlocked and available on your combat bar before leaving the menu.
| Later Water skill | Skill-point cost | Running budget for these four moves |
|---|---|---|
| Whirlpool | 6 | 6 |
| Water Wheel | 9 | 15 |
| Constant Flux | 12 | 27 |
| Dead Calm | 15 | 42 |
Water Wheel and Dead Calm mastery requirements
Giyen is the name displayed in the Dead Calm requirement. Treat the boss-related condition separately from mastery and skill points: having enough of either does not automatically complete the other requirements.
After the relevant boss encounter, return to the Dead Calm node and check its condition before planning another run. A weapon or clothing reward and a skill-tree condition are separate things to inspect.
For Tomioka players, Flowing Motion belongs to the clan tree. It does not replace a Water move or bypass these unlock requirements. Keep points for your next Water purchase when deciding between clan skills and general upgrades.
| Skill | Water Mastery | Skill points | Additional check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Water Wheel | 27 | 9 | Progress through the connected Water branch. |
| Dead Calm | 53 | 15 | The node also lists Defeat Giyen. Check that this condition is satisfied. |
Why a Water skill is still locked
| What you see | What to check next |
|---|---|
| Your character level is high, but the move is locked | Read Water Mastery on the Water branch rather than character level. |
| Mastery is sufficient, but Unlock is unavailable | Compare unspent skill points with the node cost and inspect connected prerequisites. |
| Dead Calm remains locked after gaining mastery | Inspect the Defeat Giyen condition and your remaining skill points separately. |
| You own Tomioka but cannot use Water moves | Complete Urokodaki’s breathing training; the clan and breathing route are separate. |
| A move is unlocked but missing during combat | Check the combat bar and current weapon, then inspect the skill’s input rather than buying another clan roll. |
