Progression
Slayers 2 Beginner Guide: Progression Order from Final Selection to V2
Reach level 45 and complete Final Selection after your starter quests; breathing training can begin at level 25. Then take the Crude Iron Ingot to Yagane if you want a katana, equip your crow for missions, inspect weapon refinement, and plan V2 or Nightfall and Slayer Progression. Use the order below as a practical checklist; some upgrades can run in parallel.
- Final Selection
- Crude Iron Ingot / Yagane
- Breathing training
- Crow missions
- Weapon Refinement
- V2 / Nightfall
- Slayer Progression

A practical leveling route
The ranges below are a suggested farming order. A suggested handoff level is not a requirement to stay in that area: repeat a quest you can finish consistently, and read each quest’s own level requirement before changing targets.
| Stage | What to do | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Opening to level 7 | Accept Krue’s three-bandit quest and work toward a starter sword. | Build an inexpensive, repeatable combat routine. |
| Level 7 onward | Add Krue’s Zuko quest when it unlocks; continue bandits if the boss is slowing you down. | Zuko offers a boss route and optional Cutlass / Quick Draw upgrades. |
| Around levels 10–26 | Take Tom’s bear quests. Use the bear objective you can handle and unlock the stronger quest as you progress. | The bear area connects the early route to the later Chaka quests. |
| Level 25 | Visit your chosen breathing trainer and complete that style’s requests. | Breathing training starts before Final Selection. Budget from the trainer’s actual request. |
| Level 26 onward | After Kazu’s delivery chain, use Chaka’s subordinate quest. Add the Kaiden quest at level 34. | Complete the village prerequisite instead of arriving with only the level requirement. |
| Level 40 toward 45 | Take Wagwan’s available level-40 quest. | Prepare for the trial while continuing ordinary quest progress. |
| Level 45 | Enter Final Selection and complete its objective chain. | This leads into the Slayer uniform and crow-mission progression. |
Do Kazu’s delivery before the Chaka handoff
In the starter village, speak to Kazu and accept the note delivery. Follow the delivery markers from the nearby recipient to the next destination, finishing the chain at Chaka. This is the village step that opens the later quest route.
When you reach level 26, return to Chaka for the subordinate objective. At level 34, add the Kaiden boss quest if you can complete it reliably. Set a nearby spawn point before moving your farming loop so defeats do not send you back across the map.
Prepare breathing at level 25
Speak to the trainer for the breathing style you want once you reach level 25. Read the trainer’s money, material and training objectives before spending your saved cash elsewhere. The style’s quest chain and its skills are separate parts of the process.
Demon Horns and Beast Cores appear in the launch training routes. Check the requested quantity for your own trainer rather than treating one style’s fee or materials as a universal requirement. After finishing training, open Skill Tree and inspect the breathing tab to unlock the skills you intend to use.
Choose a small set of moves you can use consistently while blocking, repositioning and managing stamina. A newly unlocked style is not automatically a finished combat setup.
Thunder Breathing: follow Zentaro’s six-step training order
Thunder Trainer Zentaro offers the Thunder Breathing training option at level 25. Confirm his interaction name before accepting. Once you start, the quest is named Thunder Breathing Training and displays a six-part counter; the conversation alone does not finish the unlock.
Thunder uses a different training chain from Water. Do not follow the Water parkour and underwater collection route while your active objective is Thunder training. Each locked Thunder row names the preceding exercise that must be completed first.
Urokodaki’s chain includes Parkour Dungeon, Boulder Push and five underwater pickups.
Slayers 2 Thunder Breathing training with ZentaroFollow the full six-part trainer sequence.
| Order | Thunder objective | Check before moving on |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Meditate | Complete the meditation activity; Cup Training becomes available. |
| 2 | Cup Training | Finish the cup activity; Push ups becomes available. |
| 3 | Push ups | Finish this exercise before heading to Aim Training. |
| 4 | Aim Training | Use the Target Shooting training interaction and complete the activity. |
| 5 | Boulder Split | Complete the splitting exercise to unlock the trainee fight. |
| 6 | Defeat the Thunder Trainee | Win the named encounter and check the training completion. |
Turn level 45 into a prepared trial attempt
Final Selection is a sequence of collection, combat, rescue and obstacle objectives. Bring healing supplies, leave money available for a bandage purchase and practice double jump before joining.
Breathing skills make the fights easier; they are preparation advice here, not an additional entry condition. Once inside, use the active quest marker and objective counter to avoid defeating the wrong enemy or leaving before a hand-in registers.
After Final Selection: use the ingot and equip the crow
The trial provides a Crude Iron Ingot. Bring it to Yagane in Hidden Mist Village if you want to forge a katana, and compare the result with your current weapon before switching.
Breathing training can start at level 25, before the trial. If you have not finished your trainer tasks or bought the skills you need, do that now; do not treat the order above as a new unlock requirement.
Open your inventory and equip the crow after claiming the trial reward. Select the mission it offers and follow its tracker. Continue available Wagwan quests between crow missions; his level-40 and level-50 objectives are different progression points.
Refine the weapon you will keep
Once you own a weapon worth upgrading, visit Refiner Hagane beside the forge in Hidden Mist Village. Select the weapon and read the next cost and success chance before spending materials. Higher refinement attempts can lower an unprotected weapon's level on failure.
Plan V2 and Nightfall after the trial blade
A V2 or Nightfall blade is a later recipe decision, not an automatic Final Selection reward. Inspect the selected base weapon, materials and currency at the forge before committing your Crude Iron Ingot or upgrade stock.
Raise Slayer Progression for Breathing Boost
Complete Ren's lost-Nichirin quest at Butterfly Estate to access gourds, then use them to raise Slayer Progression. Breathing Boost unlocks at Slayer Progression level 4. You can work on this alongside crow missions and later weapon materials.
If the next step will not start
| Problem | What to check |
|---|---|
| Chaka has no usable quest | Complete Kazu’s delivery chain and check the selected quest’s level requirement. |
| A breathing skill is missing | Open the breathing tab in Skill Tree and inspect its unlock requirements. Completing a trainer request does not place every skill on your bar. |
| Final Selection has not started | Wait at the entrance and read its live countdown rather than leaving after arriving. |
| No crow missions after the trial | Check that the crow is equipped from your inventory. |
| Thunder training is locked at the next exercise | Read the preceding row of Thunder Breathing Training. Finish that objective and check its counter before trying the next station; Water’s training order is different. |
