Slayers 2 Katana Forging: V2 & Nightfall Materials
After Final Selection, take your Crude Iron Ingot to Yagane in Hidden Mist Village and open his blade-forging menu. The menu offers Enryu, Shinkage and Tengoku Katana patterns. Tengoku Katana requires one Crude Iron Ingot and shows a Free crafting fee.

Get the Crude Iron Ingot after Final Selection
The Crude Iron Ingot belongs to the post-Final-Selection reward route. Finish the trial and its reward interaction with The Sisters, then check your inventory for the ingot before traveling to the smith. The Slayer uniform and crow are other parts of this progression handoff.
Use the item name to identify it: Crude Iron Ingot is the material for this crafting step. Reaching level 45 or entering the trial alone does not complete the reward route. If you are still working through objectives, finish the active trial task first.
Visit Yagane in Hidden Mist Village
Go to Hidden Mist Village and speak to Yagane at his forge. Choose the blade-forging dialogue to open the recipe list. This is a crafting interaction with the smith, separate from buying your first sword at the beginner shop.
- Check that Crude Iron Ingot is in your inventory before leaving for Hidden Mist Village.
- Find Yagane and choose the option to forge a blade.
- Select a named katana pattern from the recipe list so its material panel appears.
- For Tengoku Katana, check that the Crude Iron Ingot counter reads 1/1 and that the fee reads Free.
- Press Craft, then confirm the new katana notification and find the weapon in your inventory.
Enryu, Shinkage and Tengoku: choose a pattern
Yagane lists Enryu Katana, Shinkage Katana and Tengoku Katana as separate patterns. Open the pattern you want before committing the material; the recipe panel is where you check what that particular craft will consume.
For a direct route using the trial reward, select Tengoku Katana and match the recipe below. If you already have a sword you like, compare the new weapon with your equipped weapon before replacing it. Crafting a blade is an equipment choice, not a reason to stop doing your available crow missions.
| Tengoku recipe detail | What to check |
|---|---|
| NPC and location | Yagane, Hidden Mist Village |
| Item | Tengoku Katana |
| Rarity | Epic |
| Material | 1 Crude Iron Ingot |
| Crafting fee | Free |
| Successful result | Tengoku Katana appears as a new item |
Equip the blade and continue the Slayer route
Open your inventory after crafting and select the katana you intend to use. A new-item notification confirms receipt; check your equipped weapon before returning to combat so you do not continue fighting with the old sword by accident.
Also equip the crow from your inventory to access crow missions. Forging uses the material reward, while the crow opens the next mission loop. Keep those two post-trial tasks separate when deciding what to do next.
If forging does not work
| What you see | Next check |
|---|---|
| No Crude Iron Ingot | Confirm trial completion and the reward interaction with The Sisters, then inspect your inventory. |
| Only a list of katana names | Select a pattern to open its material details. |
| Tengoku material counter is short | The recipe needs one Crude Iron Ingot. Check the ingredient counter before trying Craft again. |
| A new katana notification, but the old weapon remains | Open your inventory and check which weapon is equipped. |
| No crow mission after crafting | Equip the crow separately; forging a katana does not equip it. |
Choose the smith for your current task
The trial-reward katana is one crafting step, not the entire equipment system. Keep the named NPC and menu matched to what you want to do next.

Inspect Refiner Hagane's menuCheck upgrade outcomes and guard control on an owned weapon.
| NPC | Task | Menu check |
|---|---|---|
| Yagane | Forge the post-Final-Selection katana from its pattern. | Select the blade and check its Crude Iron Ingot requirement. |
| Refiner Hagane | Refine a weapon you already own. | Check the selected upgrade, outcome chances and protection. |
| Blacksmith Togane | Manage Firstlight / Nightfall crafting materials and set drawings. | Use Swap materials for an exchange or The set drawings for collection requirements. |
Prepare Volcanic or Tornadic Katana at the Ouwigahara forge
For these upgrades, bring the corresponding base katana to Blacksmith Togane at the Ouwigahara Nichirin Forge. Select the target weapon and read the base-weapon counter as well as Additional Materials. Having the ingredients does not replace the required blade.
The Volcanic and Tornadic recipes below each show a cost of 90,000 Ouwigahara points. Keep that budget separate from Wen. Their Silk Thread requirement is 300 per weapon.
Check each selected V2 counter and its later Nightfall use.
Tornadic Katana recipe and Wind base bladeCompare its matching base slot with the Volcanic route.
- At Togane in Hidden Mist Village, check Your other forge for the Ouwigahara route and its current quest requirements.
- Reserve the matching base katana and the materials for your selected upgrade before entering Ouwigahara.
- At the Nichirin Forge, select Volcanic or Tornadic and check every counter. A red base-weapon counter is a different shortage from missing points.
- Read the reforge confirmation before crafting: the base blade is used for the upgrade. Check how the menu treats its existing refinement before committing a refined weapon.
- After crafting, inspect the new weapon in your inventory before planning the next upgrade.
| Target | Required blade | Metal Scrap | Mythic Refinement Ore | Silk Thread | Point cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Volcanic Katana | 1 Flame Katana | 500 | 10 | 300 | 90,000 |
| Tornadic Katana | 1 Wind Katana | 500 | 10 | 300 | 90,000 |
Plan the Volcanic-to-Nightfall Katana craft
At Blacksmith Togane in Hidden Mist Village, the Nightfall Katana recipe uses its own schematic and an upgraded blade. The route below uses Volcanic Katana; inspect your selected recipe before substituting a different V2 weapon. The Nightfall craft uses Wen rather than the Ouwigahara points spent on the earlier upgrade.
- Obtain the Nightfall Katana schematic and confirm the exact name. Other Nightfall set drawings are separate recipes.
- Keep your Volcanic Katana available and open Nightfall Katana at Togane.
- Check the schematic and weapon counters, then the Metal Scrap and Silk Thread counters.
- Compare your Wen with the displayed price, including any applicable character discount shown by the menu.
- Review the resulting weapon and confirmation before Craft. Refinement at Hagane is a separate subsequent upgrade.
| Nightfall Katana requirement | Amount |
|---|---|
| Nightfall Katana schematic | 1 |
| Volcanic Katana for this route | 1 |
| Metal Scrap | 1,000 |
| Silk Thread | 1,000 |
| Displayed Wen cost | 1,000,000 |
Budget the full Flame-to-Nightfall route
Starting with an owned Flame Katana and no Volcanic Katana, the two listed recipes total 1,500 Metal Scrap, 1,300 Silk Thread and 10 Mythic Refinement Ore, plus 90,000 Ouwigahara points and the displayed 1,000,000 Wen Nightfall fee. You also need the Nightfall Katana schematic. This total excludes acquiring the starting blade, travel or quest spending and optional refinement.
If you already own Volcanic Katana, budget only the Nightfall step. Do not count Volcanic as both an extra purchased ingredient and the output of a V2 craft you are already including. Keep Metal Scrap and Silk Thread separate from the special materials in Togane’s Swap materials menu.
Separate currency, recipe access and material farming.

Find the V2 materials before committing to the craft
Ginzo's stock menu visibly offers Silk Thread and Metal Scraps in Mizurri's gameplay. Talk to Ginzo, choose Show me your stock, select the missing material and check the current total before buying. The creator also says both materials drop from random bosses and prefers boss farming, but the video does not establish a particular boss, drop chance or guaranteed stack.
Before surrendering a Mythic item at Ginzo, open Sell the selection and inspect the offered return. Keep the item until you can see the exact reward and verify it is the Mythic Refinement Ore needed by your selected recipe. A Mythic rarity label alone is not a confirmed ore exchange.

| Material or currency | Volcanic or Tornadic V2 | Nightfall Katana via Volcanic | Where to check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Metal Scrap | 500 | 1,000 | Ginzo's stock or the selected forge recipe |
| Silk Thread | 300 | 1,000 | Ginzo's stock or the selected forge recipe |
| Mythic Refinement Ore | 10 | No ore line shown | V2 forge counter; inspect Ginzo's exchange reward |
| Ouwigahara points | 90,000 | Nightfall uses Wen instead | Ouwigahara forge and your point balance |
Metal Scrap
Reserve 500 for the selected Volcanic or Tornadic V2 craft. If you then craft the shown Nightfall Katana from Volcanic, reserve another 1,000, for 1,500 across both steps. Check Ginzo's Metal Scraps stock and subtract the amount you already own before buying.
Silk Thread
The selected V2 recipes each require 300 Silk Thread, while the later Nightfall Katana recipe requires 1,000. A Flame-to-Volcanic-to-Nightfall route therefore uses 1,300 Thread in total. Ginzo lists Silk Thread in his shop; read your inventory and the current stock menu before spending Wen.
Mythic Refinement Ore
Volcanic and Tornadic each show a 10-ore V2 requirement. The selected Nightfall Katana recipe does not show an ore line. If you use Ginzo's Mythic-item exchange, inspect the reward preview before selling a piece of gear you want to keep.
Ouwigahara points
Keep 90,000 Ouwigahara points for the selected V2 craft. That point balance is separate from the 1,000,000 Wen displayed for the later Nightfall Katana step. Check both counters before committing to either recipe.
Use Togane’s 1:1 material exchange before farming more
At Blacksmith Togane, choose Swap materials. The exchange offers six material entries and allows any one of those six to be exchanged for another at a one-for-one rate. Select what you give and what you receive, then choose Make the exchange.
The choices include Star Ore, Weaver’s Silk, Reinforced Plating and Weaver’s Cloth, plus two separate Forged Ingot entries. Match the exact entry and its icon to the material in your recipe; do not treat the two ingot cards as one shared inventory.
Before exchanging, reserve the quantities needed by the recipe you intend to craft. A material is only spare after you account for that recipe and any other craft you have committed to. The swap redistributes eligible materials; it does not increase their total number.
Match the ingot icon before using Togane's 1:1 exchange.
Plan Nightfall Reinforced Plating for the CapeCheck the selected five-plating counter and remaining recipe costs.
- Open the target crafting recipe and note each eligible material requirement separately.
- Compare those requirements with your inventory to identify the shortage and the genuine surplus.
- Choose Swap materials, select the surplus entry to give and the missing entry to receive.
- Check both selected cards before using Make the exchange.
- Return to the recipe and inspect its counters again. Continue only while the exchange resolves a shortage without creating a new one.
| Example planning question | Decision |
|---|---|
| A recipe needs five each of A, B and C; you hold six A, four B and five C. | If A and B are both eligible exchange entries, swap one A for one B to reach five of each. |
| A recipe needs five each, but you hold four of every required entry. | There is no surplus to redistribute. Swapping alone cannot complete the recipe. |
| The special-material counters are full, but the craft is still unavailable. | Check the schematic, other ingredients and currency cost separately. |
Check set drawings separately from material swaps
Togane also offers The set drawings, with separate Firstlight and Nightfall choices. His dialogue offers to draw the last two after you bring the required set of drawings. Open the relevant set and read its remaining requirements before searching for another schematic.
Do not assume that any arbitrary pair of missing schematics qualifies. Follow the selected set’s requirement list; the dialogue is not the same as receiving a finished weapon.
If a recipe is missing, first check that you have the schematic for that exact item and that you are viewing the appropriate crafting menu. A material exchange fixes a material shortage, not a missing recipe or an unmet equipment requirement. Avoid trading away resources until you can inspect the recipe you actually want.
Verify the visible forge counters
The linked video shows the selected Volcanic, Tornadic and Nightfall recipes at Togane. Read the right-hand requirement numbers rather than the creator’s inventory count to the left of each slash, then confirm the live forge menu before spending.
