Breathing & training
Sound Breathing
Sound Breathing is a twin-sword style with Bursting Bloom, Roar, two Exploding Beads variations, Resounding Slashes and Strength Performance. Find Sound Trainer Tengai high in Iceveil Valley; prepare for cold damage and climbing, then read his current dialogue for requirements before starting the training chain.

Prepare for the Iceveil trainer trip
Sound Trainer Tengai waits in a high cliff alcove in Iceveil Valley. Bring healing, unlock the movement tools you need for steep ledges, and use campfires to recover from the cold on the snowy approach.
Check Tengai's current dialogue and your quest log for level, Wen and material requirements before farming a fixed amount.
Find Tengai and finish the training
Use the active quest marker for the objectives between Tengai's cliff and the trainee encounter. When you reach the settlement, check the enemy name before fighting the nearby world boss.
- Travel beyond the bear and Windy Peak region toward Iceveil Valley. Stop at campfires when the cold begins to reduce health.
- Follow the upper snowy path to the settlement, then locate the cliff above the water. Use the available ledges, Wall Climb and Double Jump to reach the upper alcove.
- Read the NPC label Sound Trainer Tengai. Inspect the displayed materials, currency and prerequisite quest before handing anything over.
- Follow the active training objectives and the marked Sound Trainee encounter. Check that Sound Breathing appears in your skill tree afterward.
Five named moves and two bead variations
| Move | What the official video demonstrates |
|---|---|
| Bursting Bloom | Forward slash and impact explosion; a hit stuns without ragdoll. |
| Roar | Both swords strike the ground; a small explosion knocks nearby targets away. |
| Exploding Beads | Long-range hovering beads detonate on contact or on another key press; a close-range version drops a smoke bomb, retreats and ignites it with a slash. |
| Resounding Slashes | A flurry of slashes and explosive beads finishes with knockback. |
| Strength Performance | A rushing barrage can lead into behind-the-target spinning cuts and a final blazing cross cut. |
Practice the kit in a useful order
These practice steps are an interpretation of the demonstrated animations. The video does not establish current damage, cooldowns, mastery costs or guaranteed PvP combos. Read the live skill tree and test against the current patch.
- Check which Sound nodes are actually learned and assigned to the hotbar.
- Test Bursting Bloom on a predictable target; confirm whether its hit leaves the target standing for a follow-up.
- Use Roar when an opponent is close and compare its knockback with Resounding Slashes' end hit.
- Test both Exploding Beads inputs separately, including the second press for the hovering version.
- Try Strength Performance only when the opening rush can make contact; observe whether the remaining sequence triggers.
