Reach the cliff alcove

If the NPC name is not visible, inspect the recessed side of the upper rock wall before dropping back to the valley. The settlement boss with the same name is on the lower route.

1. Head toward Iceveil Valley and use the map's snowy settlement and water as landmarks.
2. Keep enough health for the cold crossing. Use campfires on the approach and do not begin the climb with an empty health bar.
3. Cross toward the tall rock wall above the water. Climb one ledge at a time, resting for stamina where a shelf allows it.
4. Use Double Jump to reach the top, then move into the sheltered recess. Check for the label Sound Trainer Tengai before interacting.

Read the current training requirements

Speak to Tengai and inspect the objectives, materials and Wen in the current dialogue. The trainer visit and the later trainee fight are distinct steps; merely finding the alcove does not unlock every Sound move.

Record the active quest before leaving. Complete the requested training tasks, then return to the quest marker for the Sound Trainee in the settlement. Open the skill tree after the final fight to check which moves can be purchased.

Tell the three Sound encounters apart

Follow the exact active quest label; fighting the world boss does not replace the trainee objective. If the quest still points to Sound Trainee, search the snowy ground beside the settlement.
