Idaten Typhoon
Idaten Typhoon is a Wind Breathing move with different long range and close range attacks. From a distance, the user leaps up and sends three large slashes toward the target; a landed final slash brings the user to that target. At close range, caught targets rise into an aerial three slash sequence that ends with a ground slam. Inspect the live Wind skill node for its unlock conditions before planning to use it.

Choose a variant by distance
The distant version can change your position if its last strike connects. Leave room to defend after closing in. The nearby version commits you to an aerial sequence, so choose it when the target is already within reach.
| Position | Attack sequence | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| long range | Leap up and send three slashes toward the target. A landed final slash closes the distance. | Aim before the first slash and confirm the last one connects before expecting to arrive beside the target. |
| close range | Launch caught targets, strike three times in the air and finish with a slam. | Get into reach before committing and watch where the target lands after the final hit. |
Check the Wind node before spending points or farming
Finishing Saneri's training does not automatically unlock later Wind moves. If Idaten Typhoon is locked, follow the requirement displayed on its node rather than assuming a particular boss or drop chance from a different game or older guide.
- Complete Wind Trainer Saneri's six tasks and defeat the Wind Trainee to obtain the Wind Breathing branch.
- Open Skill Tree and select Idaten Typhoon.
- Read every condition on the current node, including mastery, skill points and any named encounter requirement.
- Unlock it only when those conditions are met, then equip a compatible katana and confirm the move's combat-bar input.
Practice the long and close range finish separately
First cast from a clear distance and follow the three slashes visually. If the final slash misses, close the gap yourself before using a short-range follow-up. Then test the near version in a manageable encounter and observe the landing point after the slam.
Check your current cooldown and resource bar between attempts. The two distance forms are one named move, not two separate purchases.
