Basic Fishing Rod

Begin at Mistfall Docks

The gameplay guide shows the Dock Master and the permit-to-rod sequence. Use the live quest marker for the permit: player guides disagree on its precise dock position, and the item can be easy to overlook among the boards and boats.

1. Find Dock Master Sofen at Mistfall Docks and read his fishing dialogue.
2. Follow the active Fishing Permit marker and inspect the named pickup when you reach it.
3. Return to Sofen with the permit and check Inventory for Basic Fishing Rod.

Keep the starter rod for the first secret

The Basic Fishing Rod is more than a starter tool. The red-bridge clue calls for this rod with no bait equipped at night. A later rod does not substitute for the specified setup in the demonstrated puzzle.

Before traveling, equip the rod, clear the bait slot and check the time of day. Bring enough inventory space to inspect the reward after the required catches.

If the rod is missing

Check whether the Fishing Permit is actually in Inventory and whether Sofen's dialogue has advanced. If the quest marker remains, finish that step before trying the bridge clue.

The video does not establish a permanent level requirement for every update. Read the requirement displayed by Sofen in your current server.
