Find Shinora above the Butterfly Estate grounds

The trainer is above the ground-level exercise area. The Insect Trainee is the final quest opponent; the Insect Hashira boss is a separate encounter.

The next request: three Beast Cores.
  1. Reach Butterfly Estate and locate its main training building.
  2. Climb the side wall onto the lower roof or rear balcony.
  3. Find Insect Trainer Shinora and speak to her at level 25.
  4. Hand over 15 Demon Horns, then meet her next request for three Beast Cores. Accept Insect Breathing Training and check its first objective.

Complete the six Insect training objectives

Complete these tasks in quest order. The next row unlocks after the previous one registers. If your tracker shows a different sequence, follow its named prerequisite.

After the trainee fight, open M → Skill Tree and select Insect. Training unlocks the branch; each move has its own points, mastery and prerequisite requirements.

StepObjectiveHow to finish
1MeditateUse a dark meditation mat inside the red-floored Butterfly Estate training house. Time clicks to the moving indicator and yellow marker.
2Aim TrainingUse the Target Shooting station outside the training house and click each appearing target.
3Cup TrainingTrack the ball-bearing cup through each shuffle and select it when the movement stops.
4Push upsUse the Pushups mat in the training house; click when the shrinking inner ring meets the outer ring.
5Boulder SplitAt a rope-wrapped boulder, drag with the moving circles and survive the displayed countdown.
6Insect TraineeDefeat the quest-marked Insect Trainee after the earlier exercises; confirm the style unlock.

Build through the five Insect skill nodes

The move sequence is Compound Eye Hexagon, True Flutter, Fluttering Sting, Hundred-Legged Zigzag and Illusory Light. The first move can be held through repeated thrusts before its final slash. True Flutter closes distance, Fluttering Sting drops onto a target, and Hundred-Legged Zigzag changes direction while held. Illusory Light is the final contact-led cinematic attack.

Each node has its own live mastery, point and prerequisite checks. Read them in Skill Tree before spending points. Kocho's poison effects are clan interactions; do not assume every Insect player has the same poison mode.

Fix the common route and unlock mistakes

If Shinora seems absent, climb above the main estate building and check the rear balcony. If the dialogue refuses training, inspect the current requirement and your Slayer progression. If the trainee fight does not count, make sure the quest has reached the trainee step and that you defeated the marked Insect Trainee.

The post-release playthrough reaches Shinora near 17:00, finishes the six objectives around 21:00 and demonstrates the completed skill set near 24:15. Read your own trainer and tree panels for current requirements.
