Stone Trainee
The Stone Trainee is a Stone Sanctuary opponent with two roles in the Stone Breathing route. Before training, defeat it and check the chest for a chance at Axe and Mace. After Gyorei's five exercises, fight the marked trainee again for the sixth training objective. The trainer, trainee and nearby Stone boss are distinct encounters.

Find the trainee on the sanctuary grounds
A win is not a guaranteed weapon. Check each chest reward and your Uncategorized Weapons tab before another attempt.
- Climb to Stone Sanctuary's upper grounds.
- Look near the grassy cliff edge for the Stone Trainee's name and combat bar.
- Fight the trainee with enough room to avoid falling or being trapped at the ledge.
- Open the chest after victory and check for Axe and Mace.
Return when Stone Training reaches the final step
After accepting Gyorei's training, complete the exercise objectives in order. The sixth objective points back to a Stone Trainee fight. Bring the paired weapon and confirm the quest counter advances after the correct marked target falls.
If the counter does not advance, inspect whether you fought the quest-marked trainee and whether earlier exercises were registered. Defeating a nearby Stone boss is a different activity.
Check the style unlock after the fight
Return to Gyorei if the quest asks for a final conversation. Open Skill Tree and check Stone Breathing before spending skill points. The base weapon drop and the style unlock are separate milestones.
