Purgatory
Purgatory is the final Flame skill, a cinematic Flame Breathing move. Check the Rengoku boss's reward entry and every condition on your Flame skill-tree node before farming or spending points. After receiving the required boss reward and meeting the tree conditions, use the attack from a clear opening and check the opponent's health when the animation ends.

Check both the boss reward and tree node
Owning a boss reward and meeting the skill-tree gate are separate checks. Verify both before trying to use the move.
- Complete Rengoku's Flame trainer route and unlock the earlier connected skills.
- Select Purgatory in the Flame tree; note any remaining mastery, point and boss conditions.
- Inspect the Rengoku boss's displayed loot entry before repeating the fight.
- After obtaining the required reward, return to the tree and verify that the node can be unlocked and assigned.
Make the cinematic opening count
Purgatory rushes into a cinematic fiery sword finish. Begin with the opponent inside the opening reach and avoid casting while it is already escaping. When the animation ends, inspect its remaining health and your position before continuing.
Plan a follow-up instead of assuming Purgatory ends every fight.
Find the condition that is still missing
If the node remains locked, inspect boss reward, mastery, unspent points and connected skills individually. If the node is unlocked but the move will not fire, check the equipped weapon and combat-bar input. If the attack misses, practice the first contact at a shorter distance.
